2. Start the hatch

• Index progress needs completed hatches. New species only count when they actually appear—not while the egg is still a prop in your inventory fantasy.
• Upgrade breakpoints need cash now. Mobility purchases from Speed Upgrades are funded by animals you already hatched, not by eggs you plan to open “later.”

A clean habit: return → hatch → glance at income → one mobility or route decision → leave again. Skip the AFK stare at an unopened egg.

Reading hatch timers

Exact durations shift with egg type and patches, but the decision rules stay stable:

• Short timers on common eggs exist so beginners can feel the loop quickly—use them.
